Center Assembly (Differential) Rubber Mounts
NOTE: Numbers in parentheses ( ) indicate a component or tool in the associated illustration.
REMOVAL
1. Remove Complete Rear Axle/Suspension.
2. Remove bolts (50a)
2. Remove front center assembly mounting
3. Support rear axle with wooden blocks as follows:
- Raise rear axle carrier approx. 400 mm
- Place suitable wooden blocks under the four mounting points of the rear axle carrier (arrows)
4. Remove rear rubber mounts of rear axle center assembly as follows:
- Pull the two rubber mounts (62) forwards out of the rear axle carrier (015, 016) using removal/installation tool No. 210 589 02 43 00, or equivalent with parts 15 and 16
INSTALLATION
Reverse procedures to install, noting the following:
- Check installed position of center assembly in rear axle carrier as follows:
- Position test device (01) of removal/installation tool with spacers(14) and thrust pieces (15) on both sides, with the existing threaded spindles and nuts and tighten loosely (014, 015)
- Draw two rubber mounts (62) evenly into the rear axle carrier (1) until the pin (arrow) of the test device (01) is in the center of the hole in the rear axle cross member
- Install front center assembly suspension as follows:
1. Install rubber mount (60b) and short 14 mm disk (60a) at top in rear axle carrier (1)
2. Install the rubber mount with guide collar (60c) and long 17 mm disk (60d) at bottom
- Ensure bearing is properly seated
3. Install assigned shim (60e) between disk (60d) and rear axle center assembly (50)
4. Replace self-locking hex nut (52) and install rear axle center assembly (50) on rear axle carrier (1),
