Adjusting Steering Gear In Vehicle










1 Remove tie rod at pitman arm
2 Remove drag link at pitman arm
3 Remove combined tie rod and drag link at pitman arm
4 Assemble support (042a) on steering wheel, mount torque wrench (042b)
5 Determine friction torque of the steering gear by slowly turning the steering wheel from stop to stop several times.
6 Adjust friction torque of the steering gear
