DANGER:
Risk of explosion from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries
- No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking
- Wear protective gloves, acid-resistant clothing and safety glasses. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.
1.1 Connect quiescent current retention device
See "Commercially Available Tools" given below.
2 Disconnect ground cable of battery
3 Insert unlocking tool in the middle below the CD compartment (see arrow) or cassette compartment as far as the stop
NOTE: Push unlocking tool down about 15 mm until the locking hooks of the CD compartment/cassette compartment are released
4 Insert extraction hooks next to unlocking tool, turn 90 degrees and pull box out to the front

5 Unscrew bolt (2)
6 Remove CD player with changer (in glove compartment) (A2/6)
7 Disconnect fiber optic cable connector
NOTES:
- Do not kink or stretch the D2B fiber optic cable
- Install caps on fiber optic cable connector and equipment connection.
8 Disconnect power supply connector
9 Install in the reverse order
10 Perform basic programming
NOTE: Only if no quiescent current retention device has been used.
11 Read diagnostic trouble code memory and erase
12 Check for proper function
