Electric Seat Adjustment With Memory

Networking Of The Components For All Function Listed Below:

Electric seat adjustment with memory
The driver and front passenger seats are electrically adjustable. Adjustment is conducted manually using the adjusting switch for the respective switch train for the two front seats. The memory feature enables 3 individual seat positions to be stored and retrieved.

This is governed by the Memory system which consists of the following functions:
- manual seat and steering column adjustment
- driver memory adjustment (seat. steering column. outside rearview mirror)
- passenger memory adjustment (seat)
- easy entry
- mirror park position
- key-related settings

Function prerequisites
- No over or undervoltage
- Terminal 15 R ON or
- terminal 15 ON or
- driver's door open or
- front passenger's door open

Adjusting functions
- Front height adjustment
- Longitudinal adjustment
- Rear height adjustment
- Backrest adjustment
- Head restraint adjustment

Group categorization
The adjusting functions are split up into three groups. At the same time only one motor per group can be actuated at any given time.

If the seat adjustment switch is actuated for longer than a group's adjusting function then actuation adheres to the sequence listed below:

Group 1:
- Longitudinal adjustment
- Rear height adjustment

Group 2:
- Backrest adjustment
- Front height adjustment
- Head restraint adjustment

Group 3
- Steering column adjustment forward/back
- steering column adjustment high/low

Control modules
The driver or passenger front seat adjustment control module with memory (N32/1 or N32/2) control:
- eight seat adjustment functions.
- the motor groups for seat forward/back (M27m1/M28m1), rear raise/lower (M27m2/M28m2), front raise/lower (M27m3/M28m3) and head restraint raise/lower (M27m4/M28m4) as well as backrest forward/back (MA27m5/M28m5) are identical from the left and right-hand seats.

The position detection for the seat is done via a Hall sensor at the adjusting function motors.
Rotational direction assignment is automatic.

Switch actuation
There are two ways of storing each respective position:
a. First of all the memory switch (S91/2s9 or S92/2s9) is held down and then the storage place 1,2,3 switch (S91/2s14) or (S92/2s14) is actuated.
b. First of all the memory switch (S91/2s9 or S92/2s9) is held down and then released. Then the respective storage place button on the storage place 1,2,3 switch (S91/2s14) or (S92/2s14) is pressed (within t <= 3s).

Storage
Storage is done in the driver, passenger front seat adjustment control module with memory, (N32/1, N32/2).

Retrieving the stored positions
The corresponding storage place button on the storage place 1,2,3 switch (S91/2s14) or (S92/2s14) is pressed until the stored seat position has been set.

If during the setting up of a stored position the position button is released the function is terminated immediately.

NOTE: If the key-related storage function is active on the instrument cluster this will be conducted first. In other words, the driver's seat is moved to the position that the key assigned it the last time it was used.
