Multifunction Sensor, Function

GF83.10-P-2135-02P Multifunction Sensor, Function
- with CODE (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning

Function
The C-AAC [K-KLA] multifunction sensor (B31) records the humidity, ambient temperature and pollutant concentration of carbon monoxide (CO) and nitrogen oxide (NOx) in the outside air. It calculates the dew point from the first two values and sends this with the other values to the comfort AAC control and operating module (N22/7) via the AC bus.
The C-AAC [K-KLA] multifunction sensor (B31) operates in the following value ranges:

^ Relative air humidity of inducted air from 0 to 100 %
^ Temperature of the intake air from -40 °C to +85 °C
^ Dew point temperature from -40 °C to +85 °C
^ CO concentration between 0 and 200 ppm
^ NOx concentration between 0 and 200 ppm

Using the C-AAC [K-KLA] multifunction sensor (B31), economic control of the refrigerant compressor (A9) is made possible depending on the humidity and improved air distribution with respect to keeping the windows free from fogging.

Automatic recirculated air switching by the C-AAC [K-KLA] multifunction sensor (B31)
Requirements:

^ Ambient temperature > 7 °C
^ Activated charcoal filter button (illuminated)
^ Refrigeration cycle in operation
^ Time elapsed after detecting circuit 15 more than 120 seconds (heating-up time for C-AAC [K-KLA] multifunction sensor (B31))

If the actual pollutant concentration outside the vehicle detected by the C-AAC [K-KLA] multifunction sensor (B31) and actually present is above an acceptable mean interior air quality, then a signal is sent to the comfort AAC control and operating module (N22/7) via the AC bus so that the system switches to 100% recirculated air.As soon as the pollutant concentration present outside the vehicle is below the assumed, mean interior air quality again, the system is operated with fresh air again (exceptions: recirculated air switched manually; automatic recirculated air due to high outside temperature).
