Headlamp Cut-In

Headlamp Cut-In Function

The headlamp cut-in function serves to provide brief illumination of the area around the vehicle when the driver leaves the vehicle, e.g. in a multi-level car park.

Function prerequisite
- Lights switched on and
- Terminal 15 OFF

Function sequence
If at least one door is opened and then closed again the fog lamps are switched on for a certain time after the last door is closed. The cut-in duration can be set up to max. 60 seconds on the instrument cluster (A1).

Deactivating the function
With the headlamps switched off, turn the ignition on and back off again. The next time the doors are opened and closed the headlamps remain off.

The deactivation is effective only until the next time the ignition is turned on with the lights switched on.

NOTE:
The head lamps are switched off immediately if
- The ignition is switched on or
- The anti-theft alarm system (ATA), code 551. triggers an alarm.
