Automatic Speed Downshift of Wiper System
The automatic speed downshift affects the following functions:
- Wiping at setting "1" and
- Wiping at setting "2"
If the vehicle speed drops below 5 kph, the front SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/1) shifts the wiper motor (M6/1) speed down from either of these functions to interval wiping. With code 354a the interval delay is controlled by the rain sensor (B38).
NOTE: The front SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/1) receives the speed signal that is required for the speed downshift from the instrument cluster (A1) via the interior CAN.
Shifting speed down to selected wiper setting
- If the vehicle speed increases to above 8 kph, the front SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/1) automatically downshifts the wiper motor (M611) to the wiper setting ("1" or "2") that has been selected on the combination switch (S4).
- The wiper speed downshift can be made manually for any selected function by activating the combination switch (S4) again. If the speed drops below the specified level again, the wiper speed downshift is reactivated.
