1 Prepare fiber optic cable wiring harness (1) as shown in figure.

3 Check fiber optic cable routing in trunk
In this case only the D2B transmitter/receiver telephone (A35/13) should be installed.

4 Check fiber optic cable routing in vehicle.

The maximum station sequence is:
- Radio (A2)
- Cellular telephone transmitter and receiver unit, D2B (A35/13)
- CD changer (A2/6) (if installed)
- Radio (A2)

5 Expose the two fiber optic cable connectors D2B (X39/43) in the area of the cable duct of the right rear door and check the routing direction.
The fiber optic cables routed toward the front of the vehicle lead to the radio (A2) or the CD changer (A2/6). The fiber optic cables routed to the rear to the trunk lead to the D2B transmitter/ receiver telephone (A35/13).

6 Check the fiber optic cables leading to the front to the radio (A2) at couplers A and B.
7 Find coupler (B) with white (ws) insert on radio side (A2) and lay down to side (not changed)

8 Remove white (ws) insert coming from the D2B transmitter/receiver telephone from standard coupler (A).
9 Insert the removed white insert (ws) into the new coupler (N) for the fiber optic cable wiring harness (1) and close the coupler (N). Remove the green cover cap from the white insert (ws) of the fiber optic cable wiring harness (1) and insert the white insert (ws) into the old coupler (A) and close the coupler.

10 The nominal configuration in the vehicle now is:
- Radio (A2)
- Voice control system control module (A35/11)
- Cellular telephone transmitter and receiver unit, D2B (A35/13)
- CD changer (A2/6) (if installed)
- Radio (A2)

11 Route fiber optic cable wiring harness (1) through the rear panel into the trunk.

12 Fasten fiber optic cable wiring harness (1) to equipment board as shown in figure and fasten with adhesive felt.Connect fiber optic cable to voice control system control module (A35/11).
