AR47.10-P-4001-01PA Pump Out Fuel

DANGER: Risk of explosion caused by fuel igniting, risk of poisoning caused by inhaling and swallowing fuel and risk of injury to eyes and skin caused by contact with fuel

No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.
Only pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

1 Unscrew protective cap (1) of service valve on fuel distributor rail.
Engine 111, 271: Fuel distributor rail (1) with service valve can be found at top left of engine, level with engine oil filler neck.

Engine 112, 272, 273: fuel distributor rail (1) with service valve can be found at front right top of engine.

Engine 272 with fuel tank with exterior filter, code (917): note torque used to tighten protective cap [Nm].

2 Lead end of pressure hose (2) into safety container and mount pressure hose (2) on service valve.
3 Start engine.
If engine stalls, switch off ignition immediately otherwise fuel pump could be damaged.

4 Vehicles without code P98 Black Series: remove felt cover under the rear seat cushion (4).
5 Remove right cover (5) above fuel pump.







6 Engine 156: Unlock and disconnect electrical connector for fuel pumps.

7.1 Vehicles without code 494 USA version or code 835 South Korea version: remove ring nut (7) with claw wrench (6).
Replace sectional sealing ring. Marking on fuel level sensor must be aligned with marking on fuel tank.







7.2 Vehicles with code 494 USA version or code 835 South Korea design:
Loosen screw clamp (12) and carefully force apart clamping ring (13) and take off.
Installation: Mount clamping ring (13) with screw clamp (12) as shown and tighten screw clamp (12) with. torque wrench (020) and flexible extension (010) [Nm].

8 Swivel out fuel level sensor or locating cover from fuel tank.







9 Lead extraction hose (8) into right fuel tank chamber and extract fuel using the tank emptying device.
Connect ground cable (9) of tank emptying device to vehicle in order to avoid electrostatic charge and arcing.
Observe manufacturer's operating instructions and notes.

10 Push extraction hose (8) over transfer duct in left fuel tank chamber.
11 Extract fuel from left chamber.
Alter position of extraction hose (8) a number of times to achieve full extraction of fuel.

12 Install in the reverse order.
