Air Conditioning Inoperative

If you encounter instances in Model 220 or 215 vehicles of the A/C off light illuminating or the air conditioning being inoperative, please perform the following steps using Star Diagnosis. Although there is no fault stored, fault code B1257 may be present which prevents the air conditioning from functioning. This is a valid fault and the vehicle should be diagnosed as normal. A problem in the software prevents the fault code from being shown. Once the vehicle is repaired, clear the fault, using Star Diagnosis, by going through the following menus:

Control units
Air conditioning
AAC automatic air conditioning
Trouble shooting via complaint or symptoms
AAC does not operate (does not cool)
Delete fault memory
