Function
The engine control unit is informed via the introduced starting procedure through "terminal 50". This is necessary in order, for example, to trigger the start quantity control, the starter control, the post-start enrichment and ignition timing when starting.
Vehicles with EIS and CAN
When the electronic ignition key is turned into the start position, the electronic ignition switch control unit (N73) supplies the CAN message "circuit 50".
Vehicles with EIS without CAN
When the electronic ignition key is turned into the start position, the electronic ignition switch (N73) control unit supplies the start signal circuit 50 to the engine control unit from the output pin B9. The output is short-circuit proof and can accept a maximum load of 250 mA.
Vehicles with ignition start switch
Circuit 50 of ignition/start switch is switched to the engine control unit.
