Removing And Installing APS Radio And Navigation Operating Unit


Illustrated On Model 129:






1 Connect quiescent current retention unit

See "Commercially Available Tools" given below.

2 Disconnect and connect ground lead from battery

CAUTION: On Model 210 insulate cable terminal on ground lead for protection against unintentional contact between disconnected ground lead and ground connection point W10

3 Remove radio and navigation operating unit (APS) (A2/29)

NOTE: For this purpose, insert removal plates (1). Press back retaining springs (arrow) on removed radio and navigation operating unit (APS) and pull out removal plates (1)

4 Disconnect electrical connectors on rear of radio and navigation operating unit (APS) (A2/29)
5 Activate unit code for APS

NOTE: Is necessary only when a new radio and navigation operating unit is put into operation for the first time

6 Install in opposite order

NOTE: Voice prompt is loaded automatically within 20 minutes after connecting the battery
