AR68.10-P-1000M Remove/Install Instrument Panel
Remove
1 Remove electronic ignition switch control module
NOTE: Remove out of instrument panel toward front. Do not disconnect electrical connectors and shift lock pull cable
- See "Special Tools" below.
2 Move selector lever to position "D"
NOTE: Insert electronic ignition key into ignition/starter switch
3 Disconnect ground cable of battery
4 Remove cover (10) below instrument panel on left
5 Disconnect electrical connector from data link connector
NOTE: On left below instrument panel
6 Remove jacket tube module (14)
7 Remove cover (12) below jacket tube
8 Remove instrument cluster (A1)
9 Remove light module (N7-1)
10 Remove paneling from left and right A-pillars
11 Remove glove compartment (8)
12 Remove trim strip (19)
13 Remove left (17) and right (18) side air nozzles
14 Unclip right (15) and left (16) front door air nozzles from instrument panel (7)
15 Remove cover (11) below instrument panel on right
16 Remove cover (9) from center console
17 Remove center air nozzle (24)
18 Unclip right (22) and left (23) covers from instrument panel
19 Remove Parktronic displays
NOTE: with Parktronic system (code 220a)
20 Unscrew screws (1-6) from instrument panel
21 Lift instrument panel (7)
22 Unclip loudspeaker from center of instrument panel (7)
NOTE: Only disconnect connector
23 Lift instrument panel (7) out through open passenger door
CAUTION: Danger of damaging instrument panel
24 Lay instrument panel (7) down on suitable base
Install
25 Insert sheet metal clip nuts (6 each) in cross member (25) for mounting instrument panel (7)
26 Position instrument panel (7) in passenger compartment through open passenger door and install on cross member (25)
CAUTION: Danger of damaging instrument panel
27 Clip loudspeaker into center of instrument panel (7)
NOTE: Check seal above air outlet on heater housing, if necessary replace instrument panel (7) with defroster nozzles on heater housing
28 Screw in screws (1-6)
29 Screw jacket tube cover (12) to instrument panel (7)
30 Clip right (22) and left (23) covers into instrument panel
31 Install Parktronic displays
NOTE: with Parktronic system (code 220a)
32 Install electronic ignition/starter switch control module
- See "Special Tools" below.
33 Clip right (15) and left (16) front door air nozzles into instrument panel (7)
34 Install left (17) and right (18) side air nozzles
35 Install center air nozzle (24)
36 Install cover (9) on center console
37 Install glove compartment (8)
38 Install cover (11) below instrument panel on right
39 Connect electrical connector for data link connector
NOTE: On left below instrument panel.
40 Install light module (N7-1)
41 Install jacket tube module (18)
42 Install instrument cluster (A1)
43 Install trim strip (19)
44 Install cover (10) below instrument panel on left
45 Install paneling on left and right A-pillars
46 Reconnect ground lead to battery
47 Carry out operational check
48 Read out fault memory
