Floor shift, function
The selector lever is guided and positioned in the shift gate. All selector lever positions are recognized by the electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5), then coded and forwarded via the Controller Area Network bus Class C (engine compartment) (CAN-C) to the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) control unit (Y3/8n4).

In parallel to transmission via CAN-C, the selector lever positions "P", "R", "N" and "D" are passed on mechanically to the selection range sensor (VGS) (Y3/8s1) by means of a shift rod.
