Turning Ignition/Starter Switch to Position 0
When the transmitter key (A8/1) in the electronic ignition I starter switch control module (N73) is turned to the "LEFT" a this causes a change in the terminal status on the CAN and the voltages are switched off via the load switches.
The following functions are implemented in the electronic ignition / starter switch control module (N73):
In position I:
- Signals: Switch off 15 and 15X
- Open load switch 15
- Stop engine compartment bus communications
In position 0:
- Voltage supply for the electric steering column lock is switched on
- Open load switch 15R
- The key can be removed
NOTE: The mechanical shift lock function prevents the key from being turned back to position "0" if the selector lever of the automatic transmission is not in position "P". This is performed by a mechanical function in the electronic ignition / starter switch control module (N73).
