1 Open trunk lid
2.1 Test preparation with quiescent current retention device.

2.2 Test preparation without quiescent current retention device.

3 Switch off all loads
e.g.
- Remove ignition key
- Switch off stationary heater
- Switch off car phone
- Deactivate interior motion sensor Switch off make-up mirror reading light.
- Set rotary light switch to "0".
- Close doors; interior lighting must go out automatically after several seconds.
- Switch off radio.

With COMAND:
- Remove CD-ROM from COMAND.
- Switch off COMAND.

4 Test quiescent current.

- If total quiescent current specification is not attained: Establish circuit with increased quiescent current consumption.

- Specification not attained: Establish fused components with increased quiescent current consumption.

- Specification not attained: Establish non-fused components with increased quiescent current consumption.

- Test quiescent current again as a check.
