Cruise Control (CC) Function
Shown On Engine 111 EURO3/4:
Task
Maintaining the preselected speed constant irrespective of the engine load without any operation of the accelerator pedal.
Function
The cruise control function is integrated in the engine control module. It can be activated with the cruise control switch from > 40 km/h. The engine control module operates the throttle valve actuator for the cruise control function with the aid of the input signals and the position of the cruise control switch.
The cruise control mode is switched off by:
- Moving the cruise control switch (S40) or variable cruise control switch (S40/4) into the "OFF" position
- Operating the service brakes
- Engaging selector lever position "N"
- Control mode of traction system
Models fitted with steering column module (SCM)
The signals from the cruise control switch are detected by the steering column module and transmitted over the CAN data bus.
Models fitted with EIS control module without steering column module (SCM)
The signals from the cruise control switch are detected by the EIS control module and transmitted over the CAN databus.
Models not fitted with EIS control module
The signals from the cruise control switch are transmitted directly to the engine control module.
Models fitted with manual transmission (MT)
Cruise control remains active when gears are changed, i.e. the cruise control is not switched off when the clutch is operated.
