Parking Brake System: Adjustments
Adjustment
1. Raise vehicle at rear.
2. Models 129, 170, loosen adjusting screw (89).
3. Unscrew one wheel bolt on the left and right rear wheel.
IMPORTANT: light-alloy wheels must be removed.
4. Using a screw driver (4.5 mm) turn the adjuster (105) until the brake shoes make contact and it is no longer possible to turn the rear wheel.
- Direction of adjustment for applying brake shoes.
Right side: Turn adjuster from the bottom upwards
Left side: Turn adjuster from the top downwards
5. Turn back adjuster (105) until it is possible to turn the rear wheel completely freely.
- When loosening the adjusters ensure that both sides are turned back by the same number of teeth:
Models 129, 140 or 170 (5-6 teeth)
Models 202, 203, 208, 209 or 210 (12-15 teeth)
6. Models 129 or 170, screw in adjusting screw (89) until the brake cables no longer sag.
7. Operate parking brake firmly several times.
8. Models 129, 170, adjust parking brake:
- To do this, screw in adjusting screw (89) until the parking brake pedal can be operated by one tooth with average effort of:
approx. 150 - 180 N on model 129 or
approx. 90 - 120 N on model 170.
9. Check clearance of rear wheels.
10. Fit wheel bolts on rear wheels.
