Repair Materials:

1. Drill existing M6 tapping plates (4) with 5.7 mm drill bit (5).

Ensure safe holding and guiding of the drill, otherwise the paintwork in the roof area could get damaged.

Carefully drill until resistance is noticeable. Otherwise risk of boring.

2. Deburr drilled tapping plates (4).
3. Remove metal chips with wet/dry vacuum cleaner (6) and small bar magnets.







4. Carefully recut blind hole (7) with M7 tap (8).

Use all three stages of tap, at the same time position each stage at least 3 times.

Only screw in tap so far until a slight resistance is noticeable. Otherwise there is risk of cracks and fracture of the tap.

5. After each unscrewing of the tap, carefully remove metal chips with wet/dry vacuum cleaner (6).If necessary remove remaining metal chips with small bar magnets out of the threaded bolts.
6. Remove sealing compound with scraper (9).

At the threaded bolt, the sealing compound must be completely removed, so that the washer lies flat.

7. Clean areas with wet/dry vacuum cleaner (6).







8. Clean and degrease area A (approx. 55 mm left and right of threaded bolt), with cleaner contained in the 2K adhesive set.
9. Shake primer contained in the 2K adhesive set vigorously.
10. Coat area A (approx. 55 mm left and right of threaded bolt) with primer.
11. Coat lower sides of the base plates (1) and the washers (2) on both sides with primer.

Allow primer to air-dry for at least 10 minutes.

Observe manufacturers instructions.







12. Area A, apply sealing compound.
13. Position washers onto the threaded bolts.
14. Attach base plates (1).
15. Spread glue onto the edge of the areas. Remove excess material.

Observe manufacturers instructions for the setting time of the adhesive.

16. Mount roof rack (3), at the same time use suitable wrench for this roof rack (11)

Mount roof rack on vehicle at the latest after 10 minutes. Otherwise a correct assembly of the roof rack is no longer possible.

17. Leave roof rack (3) on vehicle for at least 60 minutes.

Observe flash-off time of the adhesive.

18. Remove roof rack (3) and mount water repellent.
