Version ME2.8
ME-SFI [ME] Vehicle Features
Version ME2.8
- The ME 2.8 control unit made of aluminium is designed as a shell concept unit housing. It is designed for installation in a protective housing. The cables are connected by means of 5 sockets.
- Intake manifold pressure sensor (B28) for altitude detection at engine start and for testing exhaust gas recirculation
- O2sensors from model LSH 4.7. The sensor heating output is approximately 7 watts when warm (previously 18 watts).
- Emission concepts
- EURO3 standard (no code)
- EURO4 standard or with code 926
- Throttle valve actuator with modified contacts
- Kickdown switch (S16/6): The kickdown switch was no longer installed from about 7/02. Kick-down recognition now takes place via the signal from the accelerator pedal sensor. The pressure point on the accelerator pedal is simulated before achieving the full load position.
- Accelerator pedal adaptation (model 203, 209, 211, 215, 220, 230): the engine control unit recognises how the accelerator pedal is actuated and switches between two characteristic curves.
Eighty percent of the engine load is released for a pedal travel of about 50 % for a sporty driverer and about 40 % for a quiet driver. There is no further difference felt above a pedal travel of about 90 %.
Note: If the characteristic curve for a quiet driver is active after driving down a motorway for example then the accelerator pedal must, under some operating conditions, be pushed down unusually far at first.
- Vehicles with SBC: If the control unit SBC registers a low voltage to the engine control unit over the CAN then the idling speed for the engaged drive position is increased to 750 rpm.
- If the engine control unit registers a low voltage the idling speed for the engaged drive position will be raised by 100 rpm until the ignition is switched off.
- When the air conditioning unit is switched on and the outside temperature exceeds 35° C the idle speed is increased for the driving mode selected from about 100 rpm to about 700 rpm when the switch-on threshold of about 900 rpm is exceeded. This increase is cancelled again when the external temperature drops below 32° C.
