AR35.30-P-0115-03BF Pressing Out and Drawing In Rear Axle Shaft at Rear Axle Shaft Flange
AR35.30-P-0115-03BF Pressing out and drawing in rear axle shaft at rear axle shaft flange
Special Tools:
Component Identification:
Rear axle shaft with forged center (without core hole drill hole)
Removal:
1 Screw nut onto threaded bolt.
2 Screw the threaded bolt into the threaded spindle of extraction and insertion tool and tighten.
3 Push out rear axle shaft using extraction and insertion tool and remove.
Installation
If rear axle shaft is stuck in place, mechanically clean splined profile of rear axle shaft and rear axle shaft flange before installation. If the rear axle shaft is difficult to install, cut an M8 thread into the shaft so that it can be pulled in with the extraction and insertion tool.
Component Identification:
4 Screw the bracket (039) onto the shaft journal of the rear axle shaft (37) and clamp in vise.

Component Identification:
6 Drill core hole bore to a depth of approx. 20 mm using a [diameter] 4 mm drill bit, cooling and lubricating the drill bit in the process.
7 Remove press-fit bushing [diameter] 4 mm (039a) with mounting screw (039c).
8 Drill core hole bore to a depth of approx. 20 mm with a [diameter] 6.8 mm drill bit, cooling and lubricating the drill bit in the process.
Component Identification:
9 Precut M8 thread using stage 1and 2 thread tap.
10 Unscrew bracket (039) from rear axle shaft and clamp rear axle shaft in vise.
11 Cut M8 thread using stage 3 screw-tap.
12 Using the extraction and insertion tool draw the rear axle shaft into the rear axle shaft flange.
