Call set-up
Function requirements
- No overvoltage or undervoltage
- Enabled Subscriber identification module (SIM) card
- Correct personal identification number (PIN) entry and successful log-in
With the Universal Portable CTEL Interface (UPCI) system, all calls are made with the portable CTEL (A34/6) via the hands-free system.
The user has several ways of setting up the call:
- Using the portable CTEL (A34/6) the desired phone number entered using the numeric keypad. The call is set up when the "Accept phone call" button is then pressed.
- The telephone number to be dialed is entered in the audio device installed via the button panel. The call connection is established by pressing the "Accept call" button.
- The scroll forward/back button (S110s1) and the system selection button (S110s3) on the multifunction steering wheel (MFL) can be used to select a stored telephone number in the telephone book, which appears in the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1). The call is set up using the accept/terminate phone call button (S111s3).
When entering the number, it is possible for the user to simplify number entry with the appropriate function buttons by calling up the desired numbers directly from the memory stored for this purpose. In this case, it is possible to call numbers stored either on the SIM card or in the telephone memory.
If an audio device is active when a call is started, it is muted regardless of whether it is an incoming or outgoing call. When muted, "Phone" appears on the display of the audio device and on the multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1).
Terminating a call
The user has several ways of terminating the call:
- Pressing the "Terminate call" button on the respective portable CTEL (A34/6).
- Pressing the accept/terminate phone call button (S111s3) on the MFL.
- By pressing the "Terminate call" control button on the installed audio device.
