AR54.21-P-1259PC Remove/Install Sam With Fuse and Relay Box, Rear

Shown In Model 203.7:

DANGER:
- Risk of explosion from hydrogen gas Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte Risk of injury to eyes and skin suffering caustic burns from battery electrolyte or from contact with damaged lead acid batteries
- No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking Wear acid-resistant gloves clothing and glasses Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers

1 Disconnect ground cable of battery

CAUTION: Do not connect quiescent current retention unit due to risk of short circuit

2 Unlock and remove left stowage compartment
3 Unscrew bolts (1)
4 Remove first aid kit bracket (2)
5 Unscrew bolt (3)
6 Pry off and move bracket (4) from rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2)

NOTE: Move bracket (4) until rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) is freely accessible

7 Unlock and remove rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2)

NOTE:
- Do not damage the retaining lugs (arrows)
- Unlock by tilting through 90 degrees towards the spare wheel recess

8 Unlock and unplug connectors (5)

NOTE:
- Removal Disconnect lines at the control module and fuse and relay box
- Installation Connect cables to control module and fuse and relay box

9 Remove rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2)
NOTE: Check fuse and relay assignment when replacing

10 Install in the reverse order
11 Read diagnostic trouble code memory and erase
12 Perform basic programming
