The altitude sensor is located at the front left on the air filter housing.

Task
The altitude sensor detects the atmospheric pressure of ambient air which can be used to make height adaptations on the engine control.

Function
The atmospheric pressure deforms a membrane which acts on a potentiometer. This alters the resistance value of the potentiometer and influences the signal voltage which serves the ME control unit (N3/10) as information about the atmospheric pressure. The pressure gauge range lies between 0.2 and 2.5 bar.
