B28 Pressure sensor (intake manifold)

The pressure sensor is located at the left rear on the intake manifold.

Task
The pressure sensor () detects the absolute pressure in the intake manifold (intake manifold air pressure). The intake manifold air pressure serves the ME control unit (N3/10) as a means of monitoring the torque requirement and HFM sequential multiport fuel injection/ignition system air mass.

Function
The intake manifold air pressure deforms the membrane which acts on a potentiometer. This alters the resistance value of the potentiometer and influences the signal voltage which serves the ME control unit as information about the intake manifold air pressure. The pressure gauge range lies between 0.2 and 2.5 bar.
