The anti-theft alarm system (ATA) is deactivated by:
- Unlocking vehicle with transmitter key (A8/1) or
- Inserting transmitter key (A8/1) into EIS control module (N73)
By transmitting the signals "Global unlocking" or "Selective unlocking" or by recognizing a valid transmitter key (A8/1) in the EIS control module (N73) the anti-theft alarm system (ATA) is deactivated by the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) and, if applicable, a triggered alarm is interrupted.
Feedback after successful deactivation (only Netherlands and United States of America):
The alarm signal horn with additional battery (H3/1) outputs an acoustic feedback by buzzing once.
Trunk lid remote control:
The trunk lid remote control function only disarms the anti-theft alarm system (ATA) partially.

- ATA inclination sensor (B33) (as of 1.6.06 not United States of America ) and and with code (882) Interior monitoring (with ATA only) die
- Interior protection transmitter and receiver (A26/14) are excluded as alarm criterion.
The remaining anti-theft alarm system (ATA) remains activated. After closing the trunk lid, the anti-theft alarm system (ATA) is returned to the status before opening.
