Store park position

Function requirements
- Circuit 15R On
- Right mirror adjustment switch (S1s5) actuated

Manually adjust desired park position of right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2) with outside mirror up/down, in/out rocker switch (S1s6) on light switch module (S1).
The park position is stored via the Left front door ESA switch group (with memory) (S91/2).
After momentarily pressing the memory switch (S91/2s9) and then actuating the outside mirror up/down, in/out rocker switch (S1s6) within 3s in any direction, the right outside mirror park position is stored as park position.

The storage request is read in by the left front door control unit (N69/1) and relayed to the right front door control unit (N69/2) via CAN-B (CAN-B)The position date is stored in the right front door control unit (N69/2).

On vehicles up to 31.8.05 the outside mirror position is stored key-related, i.e. three memory positions can be stored on each transmitter key.
This function is omitted on vehicles as of 1.9.05. Only three memory positions can be stored that are not dependent upon the key.

Move to park position

Function requirements
- Circuit 15 On
- No overvoltage/undervoltage
- Reverse gear engaged for longer than 0.6 s
- Right rearview mirror switch (S1s5) actuated
- Manual mirror glass adjustment not active
- No memory request
- Function in instrument cluster (A1) activated
- Potentiometer supplies valid readings for position recognition

Function
If the right front door control unit (N69/2) the CAN-B (CAN-B) message "Reverse gear engaged", the right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2) is moved to the stored park position.

Special feature of reverse gear signal:
On vehicles with transmission 716 the back-up lamp recognizes when the reverse gear is engaged, this is read in by the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module and transmitted to S16/2 N10/1CACAN-B (CAN-B) On vehicles with transmission 722 the reverse gear signal is directly transmitted by the electronic selector lever module control unit (N15/5) to the CAN-C (CAN-C)
In both cases this signal is read in by the central gateway control unit (N93) (up to 27.7.04) or the EIS control unit (N73) (as of 28.7.04), replaced by a uniform signal regardless of the transmission version.

The right electrically adjustable heated outside mirror (M21/2) is automatically moved to the original position, if:
- the reverse gear signal is not recognized after 10 s or
- the vehicle speed is greater than 10 km/h or
- the left mirror adjustment switch (S1s4) is actuated.

It is also then returned to the original position if the right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2) is adjusted manually via the light switch module (S1). If the right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2) is in the park position with circuit 15 Off, it is moved to the return position when circuit 15 is switched back on and the reverse gear is no longer engaged. If reverse gear is recognized with circuit 15 On, the mirror is moved to the park position after 0.6 s.
