GF77.20-P-2002PP Closing Sliding/Pop-Up Roof, Function

- with CODE (414) Power glass tilting/sliding roof
- up to Model Year 8

Function requirements:
- No overvoltage or undervoltage
- Terminal 15R ON
- Circuit 15 ON
- The overhead control panel control module (N70) recognizes the non-actuated position (roof system switch (N70s1) not actuated for longer than t = 40 ms) before actuation of the switch.

Function
The function "Close pop-up/sliding roof" is available only when the sliding/pop-up roof is synchronized. It is actuated by pulling the roof system switch (N70s1) down. The overhead control panel control module (N70) then actuates the roof system motor (M12m1). The direction which the motor is actuated depends on whether the sliding roof or pop-up roof was open previously.

The roof system motor (M12m1) is actuated as long as the roof system switch (N70s1) is actuated, however, for a maximum of t = 50 s (maximum activation time). The "Close sliding/pop-up roof" function is discontinued when the control recognizes that the sliding/ pop-up roof is locked up or pinching is recognized.

Function as of 1.7.02
The pinch protection feature(M12b3)is monitored by Hall sensor 1 (M12b1) and Hall sensor 2 (M12b2). When the pulses from the Hall sensors are not received in spite of actuation of the sliding/pop-up roof, the roof system drive unit (M12) is switched off after = 160 ms + 10 ms. In the pop-up mode the sliding/pop-up roof is also desynchronized.A mechanical thermal circuit breaker on the roof system motor (M12m1) will continue to provide overload protection. The roof can still be closed in increments of 160 ms or with the emergency crank in the event of failure of Hall sensor 1 (M12b1) or Hall sensor 2 (M12b2).
