1 Wiring harness for AUX socket
4 White 4-pin coupling
X39/45 Walkman separation point

1 Cut off white, 4-pin coupling (4) from AUX socket wiring harness (1).
2 Fit one MQS socket (18) each to the ends of the cutoff lines of the AUX socket wiring harness (1).

Ensure that the AUX socket (1) wiring harness is routed without kinking or chafing during the subsequent work procedure, otherwise the AUX socket wiring harness (1) may be damaged. The AUX socket wiring harness (1) must be routed and secured in such a way that it does not generate any noise when the vehicle is being driven.

3 Remove bolts (2) from glove box (3).
4 Pull glove box (3) towards the rear a little and push AUX socket wiring harness (1) through towards the front with the cutoff end between the glove box (3) and the dashboard crossmember (5) (arrow).
The rest of the AUX socket wiring harness (1) routing takes place later.

5 Reposition glove box (3) in dashboard (6) and tighten bolts (2).

6 Remove insulation mat (7) at the perforated section (8) and remove the perforated section (8) at the glove box (3) with a screwdriver.

7 Install Walkman interface (X39/45) of AUX socket wiring harness (1) at side of glove box (3), counterhold Walkman interface (X39/45) and fully engage trim ring (10) in housing of Walkman interface (X39/45).
8 Protect AUX socket wiring harness (1) from chafing-through in vicinity of instrument panel crossmember (5) by affixing adhesive felt tape (9).

9 Route AUX socket wiring harness (1) along existing electrical wiring harness (12) through the duct (arrow A) to the radio installation recess (15) in the instrument panel (6).
Route AUX socket wiring harness (1) between fan housing (13) and glove box (3) as shown. Please ensure that the AUX socket wiring harness (1) is not routed beneath the air duct opening (14). Lead out the AUX socket wiring harness (1) through the duct (arrow C) of the damping mat (16).

10 Protect AUX socket wiring harness (1) from chafing through in vicinity of duct (arrow A) to radio installation recess (15) by affixing adhesive felt tape.
11 Secure AUX socket wiring harness (1) to existing electric wiring harness (12) using cable ties (17, arrow B).

12 Connect MQS bushings (18) from AUX jack wiring harness (1) into corresponding contact cavities of contact carrier (19).

Assignment of contact cavities of contact carrier (19):
Transparent line (tr.) Contact cavity no. 5
Black line (sw) Contact cavity no. 6
Brown line (br) Contact cavity no. 11
Yellow line (ge) Contact cavity no. 12

13 Slide housing (coding B) onto contact carrier (19) and engage.
14 Slide contact carrier (19) into coupling (20) and engage as shown.
Please pay attention to contact carrier (19) installation location in coupling (20) that is shown.
The coupling (20) is connected to the radio or the radio and navigation unit later (depending on the vehicle equipment).
