Checking And Adjusting Reference Point For Self-leveling Suspension










1.1 Check vehicle ride height at front and rear

NOTE: Use Mercedes-Benz test device

1.2 Check vehicle level at front and rear axle with electronic inclination measuring instrument and adjust, if necessary

NOTE: With electronic inclination monitor

2 Inspect oil level of level control
- With electronic inclination measuring instrument

3 Pull the rear of the vehicle down to the specified reference point (simulated load) and position the test device (02) against the inside of the track control arm
4 Insert, extract 4 mm drift (015) through the socket (arrow) in the control module's (3) adjustment lever (3a)
- When the adjustment is correct the drift can be inserted in the alignment socket in the suspension-control module
- Incorrect adjustment of linkage rod (55a).
- Loosen the locknuts and use the adjustment screw to lengthen or shorten the linkage rod, continuing until the lever on the suspension-control module (3a) can be held in position against the module itself using the 4 mm drift (arrow)
