Radio reception, function
The amplifier module 2, window antenna (A2/72) and the amplifier module 3, window antenna (A2/73) receive frequency-modulated (FM) and amplitude-modulated (AM) high-frequency signals, filter the frequencies of the radio frequency bands and amplify them. The amplified signals are subsequently transmitted to the radio receiver via a coaxial cable.
The radio receiver demodulates the high frequency signals, in other words it separates the useful information (audible frequencies) from the carrier signal (inaudible). The demodulated audio signals are amplified and converted to sound signals by the vehicle speakers.
Different ways of tuning in stations:
- Tuning using station preset
- Tuning by program type list
- Tuning via frequency list
- Tuning by station search
- Tuning by station search on multifunction steering wheel (MFL)
- Tuning by "Autostore" memory
- Tuning by "Scan" search (the stations of a waveband are played for 8 seconds)
- Manual tuning
- Tuning using station preset
- Tuning by manual frequency input (via the 12-button control panel of the radio (A2))
Furthermore, the following functions are available (they are shown in the radio display (A2)):
- Noise suppression
- Selecting radio stations that can be received well
