AR54.21-P-1259P Remove/Install Sam With Fuse and Relay Box, Rear

Shown In Model 203.0:

DANGER:
- Risk of explosion from hydrogen gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of Injury to eyes and skin suffering caustic burns from battery electrolyte or from contact with damaged lead acid batteries.
- No fire, sparks, open flames or smoking.
- Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers

1 Disconnect ground cable of battery

CAUTION: Do not connect quiescent current retention unit due to risk of short circuit.

2 Remove paneling in trunk

NOTE: Side paneling on driver's side only.

3 Unscrew bolt(1)

4 Unlock and remove rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2)

NOTES:
- Do not damage the retaining lugs (arrows).
- Unlock by tilting through 90 degrees towards the spare wheel recess

5 Unlock connectors (2) and disconnect

NOTE:
- Removal: Disconnect lines at the control module and fuse and relay box.
- Installation: Connect cables to control module and fuse and relay box

6 Remove rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2)

NOTE: Check fuse and relay assignment when replacing.

7 Install in the reverse order
8 Read diagnostic trouble code memory and erase
9 Perform basic programming
