Trunk or Cargo Compartment Light Does Not Illuminate
If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles that either the trunk or cargo compartment light does not illuminate and no fault codes are stored, the output transistor in the rear SAM may be defective. Proceed as follows to resolve.
1. Actuate luggage compartment illumination with SDS, if okay follow SDS guidelines to diagnose switch failure, if not okay proceed to step 2.
2. Check light bulbs, if not okay replace bulb(s), if okay proceed to step 3.
3. Check wiring harness for continuity with a DMM, if not okay repair or replace wire harness, if okay proceed to step 4.
4. Replace rear SAM and confirm correct functioning of illumination.
