GF82.30-P-4006PP Wiper System Automatic Speed Reduction, Function

GF82.30-P-4006PP Wiper System Automatic Speed Reduction, Function

MODELS 203.0 /2 /7 up to 24.4.04
- except CODE (494a) USA version

The automatic speed reduction feature acts on the following functions:
- Wiping in stage "I" (windshield) and
- Wiping in stage "II"

If the vehicle speed drops below 5 km/h, then the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) resets the wiper motor (M6/1) from these functions back to intermittent wiping. On vehicles with code (354a) rain sensor, the intermittent pauses are controlled by the rain sensor (B38) up to 31.5.03 or by the rain-light sensor (B38/2) as of 1.6.03.

The front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module receives the speed signal required for the speed reduction function (N10/1) from the instrument cluster (A1) over the Control Area Network bus class B (interior) (CAN-B).

Switching back to selected wiper stage
- If the vehicle speed exceeds 8 km/h, the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/1) switches the wiper motor (M6/1) automatically back to the wiper setting at the combination switch (S4) that is being read by the EIS control unit (N73) up to 30.6.03 or by the steering column module (N80) as of 1.7.03 ("I" (windshield) or "II").
- The speed downshift can be manually canceled for any desired function by pressing the combination switch (S4) again. When the vehicle speed decreases below this threshold, he speed reduction feature again becomes active.
