GF67.29-P-0003PP Heated Rear Window, Function

Function requirements
- Circuit 15 ON
- No undervoltage or overvoltage

Function
By pressing
- Heated rear window switch (N18s1) on HEAT control and operating unit (N18) (without code (580) Air conditioning system or Tempmatic for USA or without code (580) Automatic air conditioning or without code (581) Automatic air conditioning or without code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning) or
- heated rear window switch (N22s1) on AAC control and operating unit (N22) (with code (580) Air conditioning system or Tempmatic for USA or code (580) Automatic air conditioning or as of 24.4.04 without code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning)
- heated rear window switch (N22/7s1) on comfort AAC control and operating unit (N22/7) (with code (581) Automatic air conditioning or code (581) Comfort automatic air conditioning) the heated rear window (R1) is switched on by the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).

This is indicated by a function LED in the heated rear window switch (N18s1, N22s1 or N22/7s1). When the heated rear window switch (N18s1, N22s1 or N22/7s1) is actuated again, the heated rear window (R1) switches off.Simultaneously, the function LED in the heated rear window switch (N18s1, N22s1 or N22/7s1) goes out.

Duty cycle
The duty cycle for the heated rear window (R1) is set to 10 minutes at the factory.

Switch-on and switch-off characteristics if voltage is too low
If the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) recognizes that the voltage is too low during the heating phase, the heated rear window (R1) is switched off.

In this case, the function LED in the heated rear window switch (N18s1, N22s1 or N22/7s1) flashes with half of the brightness and 1.5 Hz.

If the on-board power supply exceeds
11.8 V, the heated rear window (R1) is switched back on automatically and the function LED comes on again with steady light However, if the low voltage exists for longer than 10 s, the heated rear window (R1) is switched off completely. It must then be switched back on again manually.

The vehicle voltage is read in by the EIS control unit (N73) and stored on the Control Area Network bus, class B (interior compartment) (CAN B).
