GF82.30-P-3001PS Intermittent Wiping For Rear Window, Function

GF82.30-P-3001PS Intermittent Wiping For Rear Window, Function

MODELS 203.2 up to 23.4.04

The rear window intermittent wiping depends on the switch-on state of the windshield wiper system. For this reason, the following functions are described in terms of how they depend on the position of the combination switch (S4). This position is read by the EIS control unit (N73) up to 6/30/03 or by the steering column module (N80) as of 7/1/03.

Function prerequisites:
- Circuit 15R ON

Function sequence with combination switch (S4) in "OFF" position:
The rear window intermittent wiping function is switched on by pressing the rear window wiper switch (N72/1s12) upward. The signal is read in by the upper control panel control unit (N72/1) and relayed over the Control Area Network bus class B (interior) (CAN-B) to the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2). The rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) actuates the rear-end door wiper motor (M6/4). The intermittent pauses have a duration of 5 seconds.

Function sequence with combination switch (S4) in position "I" intermittent wiping

Without code (345a) rain sensor
The function sequence is the same as for the combination switch (S4) "OFF" position, the only difference being that the first wiping cycle of the rear wiper is immediately actuated by the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2)Then the windshield wipers are simultaneously actuated together with the rear wiper within the intermittent time following a synchronization time of approx. 4 seconds. The intermittent pauses have a duration of approx. 5 seconds.

With code (345a) rain sensor
The function sequence is the same as for the combination switch (S4) OFF" position, the only difference being that the first wiping cycle of the rear wiper is immediately actuated by the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) Then the windshield wipers are simultaneously actuated together with the rear wiper within the intermittent time following a synchronization time of approx. 4 seconds. The intermittent pauses are determined by the rain sensor (B38) up to 5/31/03 or by the rain/light sensor (B38/2) as of 6/1/03.

The function rear window intermittent wiping can be interrupted at any time by actuating the rear-end door wiper switch (N72/1s12).

Function sequence with combination switch (S4) in position "II" or "III"
Slow or fast wiping

The function sequence is the same as in combination switch (S4) OFF" position, the only difference being that the first wiping cycle of the rear wiper is immediately actuated by the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2). Then intermittent wiping is started by the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2). The intermittent pauses have a duration of 5 seconds.

The rear window washing operation always has priority over intermittent wiping.
