Remove/Install Rear Axle Center Assembly
- rear axle center assembly dia. 210 (model 215, 220)
- rear axle center assembly dia. 198 (model 220)

Shown On Rear Axle Center Assembly 198 mm Diameter:

DANGER:
- Risk of death. Death may result if vehicle slips or topples from the lifting platform.
- Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

CAUTION:
- While working on the rear axle care must be taken to ensure that the surface of all aluminum components do not get any scratches, cracks and notches. Otherwise the service life of the parts will be affected
- See notes on self-locking nuts and bolts.

1 Raise vehicle.
2 Remove exhaust system as of flange connection
3 Remove rear axle shafts (37) from connecting flange

NOTE:
- Move rear axle shaft so that is roughly horizontal and then push together.
- Remove rear axle shaft from connecting flange at a downward angle and tie up rear axle carrier.
- Installation: Replace self-locking bolts and shims.
- Lightly oil bolts at thread and bolt head contact surface.

4 Unscrew bolts at propeller shaft intermediate bearing (106a)
5 Detach rear propeller shaft assembly (106) from rear axle center assembly.

NOTE:
- Flexible disk remains on propeller shaft.
- Installation: Connect rear propeller shaft to rear axle center assembly

6 Slacken flexible coupling fitted sleeves on flange.

NOTE: Tie up propeller shaft to one side.

7 Support rear axle center assembly (50)
8 Bolt extension bracket (54a) to rear axle center assembly
9 Remove bolt (51a) from front center assembly mount
10 Lower and remove rear axle center assembly (50)
11 Unscrew extension bracket (54a) from rear axle center assembly (50)

NOTE: If necessary.

12 Remove rear axle center assembly breather (55)
13 Install in the reverse order
14 Check rear axle center assembly oil level, top up if necessary.
