Electronic Ignition/Starter Switch Control Module




Design
The EIS housing has an opening for inserting the remote control key. An infrared transmitter and receiver unit is located in the opening to exchange data with the remote control key.


Purpose
- Actuation of engine fan
- Switch-on conditions for automatic air conditioning
- Interface (gateway) between interior CAN bus and engine compartment CAN bus for exchanging data between the two bus systems
- Interface between the control modules of the passenger compartment CAN bus and the data link connector (X11/4)
- Circuit 50 for engine control module via engine compartment CAN bus
- Checking drive authorization
- Checking access authorization
- Interface communication with remote control key (A8/1) when inserted
- Power supply for remote control key (A8/1)
- Release of rear selector lever lockout in electronic lever module control module (N15/5)
- Transmitting CAN messages circuit 15, 15R
- Actuation of "universal" and "selective" central locking
