AZ82.70-P-0005-02PC Retrofit Hands-Free System Wiring Harness
Installation shown with COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3)
Component Identification:
1.1 Remove MOST connector (22) from standard radio connector and install in radio adapter connector (14) on interface wiring harness (if installed).
Risk of breakage. Do not kink optical waveguide, route over sharp edges or bend in radii Risk of breakage! smaller than 25 mm. Tensile forces on inserts must not exceed 65 N. Do not squeeze fiber optical cable and do not compress with clamps or tie straps.
2 Connect standard radio connector (13) to radio adapter plug (12) on interface wiring harness.
3 Connect radio adapter connector (14) on interface wiring harness to COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3).
4 Route FSE 12 wiring harness (2) with interface connector (7) and wiring harness (32a) with telephone console connector (32) from radio recess under the AC housing along the existing lines and fasten in place using cable ties.
The interface connector (7) is connected at a later stage to the hands-free system interface. The microphone connector and speaker connector are connected at a later stage.

5 Remove foam material (30) on right A-pillar.
6 Route microphone branch-off line (8) from the FSE 12 wiring harness along the right A-pillar and fasten in place using three felt strips (see arrows).
When routing to the right A-pillar make sure that the routing is placed before the front check strap of the windowbag to the windshield, so that the windowbag function is not impaired.

7 Route microphone branch-off line (8) under the right front headliner to the overhead control panel control unit (N70).
8 Fasten microphone branch-off line (8) using two felt strips under the right front headliner (see arrows).
The microphone connector (4) is connected at a later stage to the hands-free system microphone.
