Function requirements
^ Vehicle speed less than 3 km/h and
^ central locking (CL) unlocked or
^ central locking (CL) and valid transmitter key (A8/1) inserted in EIS control module (N73).

Function sequence
Operation of the trunk lid release switch (S20/1s6) is read in by the left front door control unit (N69/1). If the function of the open trunk lid switch (S20/1s6) is enabled, the front door control module (N69/1) sends the command to open the trunk lid to the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) via the controller area network bus class B (passenger compartment) (CAN-B).

The rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2) actuates the CL motor (S88/4m1) in the trunk lid lock. The rotary tumbler in the trunk lid lock is unlocked and the trunk lid is automatically opened by the spring force.If the trunk lid is open, the left door control module (N69/1) actuates the LED in the trunk lid open switch (S20/1s6) as feedback.

Function requirements:
^ Vehicle stops.
When the emergency opening trunk lid switch (S88/10) is actuated in the trunk, the trunk lid can be opened from the trunk (e.g. by a person trapped).
The emergency opening trunk lid switch (S88/10) is illuminated for approx. 60 min. after the trunk lid is closed (green, flashing frequency 1 Hz).

Function sequence
The emergency opening trunk lid switch (S88/10) is read in by the rear SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/2)If necessary, it starts global opening of the central locking (CL) and opens the trunk lid by actuating the CL motor (S88/4m1) in trunk lid lock.
