^ Voltage not to high or too low
^ Reverse gear engaged for longer than 1 s
^ Right mirror adjustment switch (S1s5) actuated
^ Function activated in instrument cluster (A1)
^ Potentiometer for position sensing supplied valid values
^ Function enabled via diagnosis

Function
The information whether the reverse gear is engaged is transmitted by the back-up lamp switch (S16/2) (on vehicles with transmission 716) directly via the front SAM control module with fuse and relay module (N10/1) or by the electronic selector lever module control module (N15/5) (on vehicles with transmission 722) via CAN-C (CAN-C).

If all function requirements are fulfilled, the right heated and electrically adjustable outside mirror (M21/2) is moved to the parking position.
Actuation is accomplished via the right door control unit (N69/2).

After shifting to another drive stage the right electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/2) is moved back to the original position after 10 s.Moreover, it is also moved back immediately when the vehicle is increases above 10 km/h.
A manually adjustable parking position can be assigned to each transmitter key used.
