5 Connect green 2-pin coupling (2) with brown and brown/red line from auto pilot system wiring harness to slot 11 (arrow A) on the rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2).

The slot 11 (arrow A) is colored green.

6 Connect brown line (br) from the auto pilot system wiring harness (1) to ground (left wheel arch in trunk) (W6).
7 Route auto pilot system wiring harness (1) along on-board wiring harness into the interior compartment and attach to the on-board wiring harness.

The blue and green color coding on the auto pilot system wiring harness (1) must match the identically colored markings on the on-board wiring harness.

8 Fasten auto pilot system wiring harness (1) as shown in interior on left wheel arch to on-board wiring harness.

9 Disconnect black 2-pin couplings (4) of standard installed wiring harness on bass box speaker (H4/17).
10 Wrap felt tape around black 2-pin couplings (4) of standard installed wiring harness, strap down on rear shelf as per picture and fix in place with felt tape (arrows C).
11 Route branch-off line for bass box speaker (H4/17) of auto pilot system wiring harness along the standard installed wiring harness to the bass box speaker (H4/17) on the rear shelf and connect the black 2-pin couplings (4) to the bass box speaker (H4/17).

12 Expose and separate the standard white 2-pin interior/sound system connector (X18/4) with blue line (bl) in the left rear cable duct.
13 Connect the white 2-pin connector (no longer required) from the auto pilot system wiring harness (1) with the standard installed 2-pin coupling and route into the left rear cable duct.
14 Route auto pilot system wiring harness (1) further forward in the cable duct.

15 Expose and separate pink line (rs) and brown/pink line (br/rs) of standard installed wiring harness, which is routed through the B-pillar to the left rear door, as shown.

The lines have a cross section of 1.5 mm2 and are twisted with each other. In the area shown here there are two subharnesses with pink lines (rs) and brown/pink lines (br/rs) downstream of the left rear speaker group connector sleeves. Make sure that the subharness routed through the B-pillar to the left rear door is separated.

16 Use a solder connector to connect the pink line (rs) of the standard installed wiring harness, which is routed through the B-pillar to the left rear door, with the pink line (rs) from the auto pilot system wiring harness (1).
17 Use a solder connector to connect the brown/pink line (br/rs) of the standard installed wiring harness, which is routed through the B-pillar to the left rear door, with the brown/ pink line (br/rs) from the auto pilot system wiring harness (1).

18 Use felt tape to insulate the pink line (rs) and brown/pink line (br/rs) of the standard installed wiring harness, which is routed to the front, and route into the cable duct.
19 Detach both pink lines of black 10-pin wake-up signal connector (X30/8) from auto pilot system wiring harness (1) and install in any contact cavity of the vehicle's installed black 10-pin wakeup signal connector (X30/8).

If there is no black 10-pin wake-up signal connector (X30/8) installed in the cable duct, fasten the black 10-pin wake-up signal connector (X30/8) from the auto pilot system wiring harness (1) to the given bracket in the cable duct.

20.1 Strap down violet 2-pin radio 'mute' plug distributor (X30/12) (no longer required) of the auto pilot system wiring harness (1) in the cable duct

For vehicles without code (272) Non-networked telephone preinstallation with telephone antenna or without code (273) Cell phone telephone preinstallation (non-networked) VDA wiring.

20.2 Expose radio 'mute' plug distributor (X30/12) in left front cable duct, separate it and strap down the connector (no longer required) for the vehicle's installed radio 'mute' plug distributor (X30/12) in the cable duct.

For vehicles with code (272) Non-networked telephone preinstallation with telephone antenna or with code (273) Cell phone telephone preinstallation (non-networked) VDA wiring.

21 Connect connector of yellow line (ge) of radio 'mute' plug distributor (X30/12) from auto pilot system wiring harness (1) with vehicle's installed coupling of radio 'mute' plug distributor (X30/12) and insert into cable duct.

For vehicles with code (272) Non-networked telephone preinstallation with telephone antenna or with code (273) Cell phone telephone preinstallation (non-networked) VDA wiring.

22 Expose white 2-pin connector for cockpit wiring harness and FFS [RBA] (X18/35) in cable duct, separate it and strap down the white 2-pin coupling (no longer required) in the cable duct.
23 Connect the white 2-pin coupling of the auto pilot system wiring harness (1) with the white 2-pin connector to the cockpit wiring harness and FFS [RBA] connector (X18/35) and place into cable duct.
24 Connect brown line (br) from auto pilot system wiring harness (1) to ground (left footwell) (W15/2).
25 Branch off red/yellow line (rt/ge) with Bordeaux red fuse carrier for fuse 28 (F34f28) and branch-off line with black 4-pin coupling for radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56) from wiring harness for auto pilot system (1) (arrows D).

Branch off red/yellow line (rt/ge) with Bordeaux red fuse carrier for fuse 28 (F34f28) far enough away from wiring harness for auto pilot system (1) that it can be routed from the footwell to the interior fuse box.
Branch off branch-off line with black 4-pin coupling for radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56) far enough away from wiring harness for auto pilot system (1) that it can be routed together with the wiring harness for auto pilot system (1) from the footwell to the radio recess.
