Remove/Install
DANGER:
- Risk of explosion from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries
- No fire, sparks, naked flames or smoking.
- Wear protective gloves, acid-resistant clothing and safety glasses. Pour battery electrolyte only into suitable and appropriately marked containers.
1 Disconnect ground cable of battery
NOTE: Do not connect quiescent current retention device.
2 Remove cover (1) of fuse and relay box (F1).
NOTE: Installation: Check rubber seal in cover, replace if required. Cover must be located in the groove at the rear.
3.1 Release and unplug electrical plug sockets (2, 3)
3.2 Release and unplug electrical plug sockets (4)
4.1 Release catches (5) and take out CDI control module (N3/9) toward top
4.2 Release catches (5) and take out ME control module (N3/10) toward top
5 Install in the reverse order
6 Perform basic programming
7 Read out fault memory and erase if necessary
NOTE: Stored faults must be processed and erased in the fault memories after completing the work. The stored faults may result from faulty components, removal and installation work or cables disconnected during test operations or from a simulation.
