GF82.61-P-2002T Continuous Position Finding, Function
- with CODE (525) MB Audio 50 APS radio
- with CODE (527) Navigation module for COMAND

The navigation processor for the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56), with code (525) MB Audio 50 APS radio, is integrated into the operating unit. With the COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3), with code (527) COMAND APS (with navigation), the external navigation module is referred to as a navigation processor (N41/1).

Determination of location is the calculation of the vehicle's current position. It is activated by opening the driver door or by switching on the ignition and is run by the navigation processor (N41/1). During the switch-on phase (software is loaded), only the basic position finding is available. Once the ignition is switched off all important position finding parameters are stored during a run-on time of 30 minutes.

Three complementary methods are utilized for continuous position finding. This ensures very accurate and reliable position finding. These methods are:
^ Basic position finding
^ Map-supported map matching
^ GPS position finding

In order to manually input the vehicle location, it is possible to enter the location manually at the radio control panel and navigation unit (A2/56) with code (525) MB Audio 50 APS radio or COMAND operating, display and control unit (A40/3) with code (527) COMAND APS (with navigation). This may be useful after the vehicle has been transported (e.g. ferry or train) if there was no GPS reception at the start of the journey.
