D. Mounting the optional voice control module (VCM)





1. Carefully reposition the vehicle harness away from the front of the carrier plate to expose the fastening point of the AKG control module (A, Figure 18-shows harness repositioned).

Note:
Another name for the AKG control module is the "hands-free system" control module or unit.

2. Remove the AKG control module from the left compartment of the carrier plate by removing the T10 Torx screw (B, Figure 18) and then sliding the rear mounting-tab (C, Figure 18-not visible in photo) out of the slot.

3. Disconnect the power cable connector (D, Figure 18).





4. Mount the VCM by sliding the rear mounting-tab into the slot (A, Figure 18-rear tab and slot not visible in photo) and fastening the front mounting tab with the previously removed T10 Torx screw (B, Figure 19).

5. Connect the power cable connector (C, Figure 19).

6. Move the vehicle harness back to its original position.

7. Reinstall the carrier plate cover.

8. Reinstall the vapor barrier.
