Parktronic Operation, Function

Operation, Function

The complete Parktronic system (PTS) is only active at speeds below 16 km/h.
When a speed of 18 km/h is exceeded, the PTS goes into standby mode, i.e. the background lighting of the displays is deactivated by the control module and the sensors are activated according to direction of travel (forward/reverse).

When a speed of 40 km/h is exceeded, the complete PTS is switched off by the PTS control module. When the speed drops back below the above speeds, the PTS is activated in the reverse sequence to that described above.

In vehicles with automatic transmission, the Parktronic system is activated when the selector lever is at position "P".

The warning elements are deactivated when the selector lever is at position "P", the hand brake is applied and the vehicle is stationary.
The Parktronic system remains active.

In vehicles with easy-shift manual transmission (KSG), position "P" is not available. The front warning elements are always activated at speeds below 16 km/h.

The rear warning elements are only activated when the driver engages the reverse gear.

The warning elements are deactivated when the hand brake is applied and the vehicle is stationary. The Parktronic system remains active.
