Locking/Unlocking Trunk Lid With Mechanical Key, Function






The mechanical key is used to turn the lock cylinder in the trunk lock.

In the 0 degree position (1), the lock is unlocked manually. Provided the vehicle is not locked centrally, the trunk lid can be opened manually.

By turning the key approx. 30 degrees to the left (2) and holding the lock cylinder in place, the trunk lid lock can be opened manually using the trunk lid external operation switch (S88/8) even when the vehicle is centrally locked. The key cannot be withdrawn in this position.

The lock cylinder is moved into the 90 degrees position (3) by turning the key to the right. The key can be withdrawn in this position.The trunk lid lock is locked manually. It cannot be opened either manually with the remote control key (A8/1) nor with the remote trunk release switch (S15) (porter function).
