Trunk Lid Status Indicator, function

The status of the trunk lid is indicated by an LED in the remote trunk release switch (S15). If the trunk lid is open, the contact of the lock pawl rotary tumbler switch (S88/4) is closed. The switch is read in by the rear SAM control module (N10/8). The rear SAM control module (N10/8) transmit a corresponding CAN message to the left door control module (N69/1).

The left door control module (N69/1) activates the LED in the remote trunk release switch (S15).

When the switch and controls illumination (circuit 58d) is on, less power is delivered to the LED (day/night switch-over).
