Location
The left front IR receiver (A26/1), (right front IR receiver (A26/2) are located in the area of the lock cylinder.

Purpose
Receive infrared signals from remote control key

Design
The infrared receiver consists of an IR sensitive semiconductor element with active control electronics.

The receiver is recessed in the door handle behind a filter.

Function
The infrared receiver converts the infrared signal from the transmitter of the remote control key (A8/1) into an electrical signal. The electrical signal is read in by the left door control module (N69/1) or the right door control module (N69/2). The information contained in the signal is transmitted by the door control module in the form of a CAN message.
