Rollover Bar/Vario Roof Control Module, Function






The UVS control module (N52) directly actuates the following functions and is connected with other control modules via the passenger compartment CAN bus.

The UVS control module (N52) directly actuates the following functions:
- Vario roof
Evaluation of the limit switch and actuation of the solenoid valves of the UVS valve block (Y55/1), the UVS hydraulic unit (A7/5) and the side flap motor open/closed (M49/1).

- Rollover bar
Evaluation of crash actuation and rollover bar limit switch top/bottom (S83/10) and actuation of UVS valve block (Y55/1), UVS hydraulic unit (A7/5) and rollover bar solenoid valve (Y57/1).

- Rear side window
Evaluation of corresponding window position by hall sensors and actuation of left/right rear power window motors (M10/5, M10/6).

- Load assist
Evaluation of load assist limit switch top/bottom (S117), load assist switch (S114) and actuation of UVS hydraulic unit (A7/S) and valve block (Y55/1).

The UVS control module (N52) is connected with following control modules via the passenger compartment CAN bus
- Vehicle electrical network control module (N82/1)
Recognition of over and undervoltage interruption the Vario roof operation.

NOTE: When limp-home mode (undervoltage ) is recognized it is not possible to open the Vario roof

- Overhead control panel control module (N70)
Reading in Vario roof "closed" limit switch (right pin) (S69/1).

- Lower control panel control module (N72)
Recognition and evaluation of Vario roof control switch (N72s16) and rollover bar (N72s17) and Vario roof indicator lamp.

NOTE: It is not possible to switch over between two actuation directions without the non-actuated state being recognized in between.

- Left/right door control modules (N69/1, N69/2)
Recognition and evaluation of control switch for side window and activation of short stroke position when Vario roof actuation is active.

- PSE control module with combined functions (A37)
Locking remote trunk release with Vario roof operation and recognition of trunk partition "closed" limit switch (S69/10)

- Instrument cluster (A1)
Recognition of current speed signals, actuation of warning gong for Vario roof as well as display of warning and operating notes.

- Rear SAM control module (N10/8)
Recognition and evaluation of trunk lid lock rotary tumbler limit switch "closed" (S129) as well as switch-off of rear window defroster when Vario roof is not closed and locked.

- The position of the Vario roof also has an effect on the Radio (A2) and the AAC pushbutton control module (N22).
